Baerclaw Productions Goes Over The Top (OTT)

Over The Top (OTT) advertising is a great way to target niche audiences when compared with traditional forms of advertising through TV broadcasters by finding them and reaching them when they are streaming content on their phones, gaming consoles, tablets and connected TV and it can really extend the return on investment of any video production project or existing in-house video that you may have.

These commercials are delivered directly to viewers via a streaming video service over the internet, bypassing the traditional cable set box and can be highly segmented meaning that we can identify, and target, subgroups based upon really anything that you want including geographic location, gender, age, ethnicity, income, education level!

While traditional television ads are generally between 15 and 60 seconds, OTT spots should be no longer than 30 seconds and ideally are 15 seconds long and should focus on a singular, important message.

Most of the OTT spots that the Baerclaw Productions team is producing are using existing video that we have repurposed, refined and repackaged to deliver your message to your clients targeted audience where they are watching streaming videos. This is allowing us to work with clients around the country and allowing them to extend their marketing budget through very cost effective, targeted campaigns.

While Baerclaw Productions doesn’t do the actual OTT planning, placement and analysis, our partner is one of the best in the industry. Brandendo is our solution for all things digital marketing by providing highly effective online marketing solutions across all digital platforms!

If you’re ready to target your ultimate audience where they are watching without trying the shotgun approach of broadcast TV, give us a call at 602-789-8396 so that our team can start the process of putting together your OTT campaign – together, we’ll take your business Over The Top!

Since 1997, the Baerclaw Productions team has been producing award winning internal and customer facing videos and we can do the same for your organization. We’re honored to partner with Mercy Honors!

When Mercy Care needed a production partner to help them produce videos for their Mercy Honors, RISE Awards and the ReMEMBER Kate Award, they turned to the Baerclaw Productions team.

They had their hands full going through the nomination, review and selection process internally, not to mention all of the planning for the online events, and after setting the schedule, they turned the project over to our team to handle all of the production needs which included handling all of the interviews, script writing, postproduction and electronic delivery of all of the approved videos.

To complete all of the videos that they needed, we did online video interviews and single and multiple camera on location shoots at a variety of locations around the Valley. We also reviewed, sourced and secured voice over talent as needed for some of the videos.

Some of the highlights included a keynote address from Brandon Lee of Art Of Our Soul Art Studio. Brandon and I both used to work at Channel 3 here in Phoenix and he shared his amazing recovery story from drug addiction and his decision to follow his heart and take his passion for art and turn it into a vehicle to help others who are dealing with various forms of trauma.

We also connected via zoom with Linda Hunt, the former President and CEO of Dignity Health’s Southwest Division, who shared highlights of her 50 plus years of health care service as she was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

We also used zoom to honor this year’s RISE Award winners. The RISE Awards celebrate individuals and organizations in our community who are working to make the lives of others better. The awards honor individuals and organizations in the three areas of Compassion, Innovation, and Advocacy and Collaboration.

The other major grouping of videos revolved around the ReMEMBER Kate Aurelius Award which is an annual recognition program to memorialize Kate Aurelius, a former Mercy Care employee and deputy director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), for her dedication to ensuring quality health care for the most vulnerable. The award recognizes an employee’s outstanding contributions to our members and commitment to excellence.

We created a video for each of the 18 nominations which had the nominator explaining how the nominee went above and beyond to make a positive impact for the Mercy Care members and the nominee reacted and explained why they do what they do. Most were done with three cameras, but some were done using zoom.

If you need help honoring award winners for your organization, give us a call at 602-789-8396 and let’s start the process of showing the world the amazing work that your team members are doing and the difference that they are making in their community.

Well done Elevate Phoenix!

I was proud to provide voice over services for the 3rd Annual Father’s Day Match For A Cause which benefits Elevate Phoenix. As the edits of the pre-recorded event were completed, I wrote the scripts and was the voice of the on-course commentator.

With a potential audience of more than 84 million households, this year’s match featured Tom Lehman and son Thomas against Lee Janzen and his son Connor at the Westin Kierland Golf Club.

In case you missed it or want to watch it again – here’s the link to view it – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsgK4sgruBg.

Elevate Phoenix is an amazing organization started and headed by Tom Lehman that serves 5,000 students annually. Their mission as a non-profit is to deliver long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth by employing a holistic approach to meet each child’s needs.

To Elevate Phoenix, that means full-time salaried teacher-mentors, year-round programming, cross-age mentoring and a long-term relational approach in four areas: accredited classes, mentoring, reading & literacy, and graduation and post-secondary plans.

They teach vision, courage, respect, caring, responsibility, positive work ethic and integrity. The students learn career mindedness, decision making, goal setting, communication, leadership and problem solving skills.

There is still time to donate to this amazing organization! If you’d like to learn more about them, visit https://elevatephoenix.org/.

This is my third year helping out and I can’t wait for the 2023 Father’s Day Match For A Cause!

Ford Motor Company Fund chooses Baerclaw Productions

Ford Motor Company Fund is part of an amazing program called ‘Ford Driving Skills for Life’ and when they brought their program to Phoenix, they turned to Baerclaw Productions to help them spread their message through the local media.

Baerclaw Productions was on-site early in the five-day event to gather video and interviews with both participants, their parents and of course representatives from the Ford Motor Company Fund. Those video elements were then condensed into a video news release which was made available to all of the television stations so that they could help spread the word.

The free half-day courses provide hands-on experience for newly licensed drivers to improve their skills in four key areas – hazard recognition, vehicle handling, speed and space management. They also talked with the young drivers about distracted and impaired driving.

Since 2003, the Ford Driving Skills for Life has helped more than one million drivers in all 50 states and 46 countries around the world. For more information on the program, you can visit www.drivingskillsforlife.com.

Fortune 500 company Frontier Communications selects Baerclaw Productions

Frontier Communications is the latest Fortune 500 company to partner with Baerclaw Productions as their video production partner. This project involved a series of short videos to talk directly with their independent sales force because their reps were telling Frontier that they wanted to hear more from the company and Baerclaw Productions was the solution to use the power of video to deliver the message.

Their host for the videos briefly highlighted all of the things that Frontier Communications is doing to make being a valued partner easier and how they were committed to creating a partnership where everyone wins.

Frontier Communications Video Shoot 2

The videos, which were shot in a studio utilizing two Sony XDCam cameras and a teleprompter, covered all of the exciting products, packages, and bundles for all things internet that Frontier is rolling out including their state-of-the-art solutions and extremely competitive pricing to arm their partner community with the tools needed to win with Frontier Communications.

The ultimate goal is to reinforce Frontiers’ place as a premier partner for their independent sales force, a company that they want to do business with again and again and one that they are proud to align with.

Message delivered thanks to the efforts of the Baerclaw Productions team.

Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition is made up of SUPERHERO’S

That’s the theme for this year’s virtual gala and Baerclaw Productions is honored to once again help them share their story.

No Senior Left Isolated – that’s the vision of Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition (VVCC) and with the help of hundreds of volunteers, they provide support for adults, or their ‘neighbors’, who need assistance to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life at home – without charge.

The services they provide include transportation to medical and other appointments, rides to the grocery store, shopping, and other errands, business assistance such as bill paying and sorting, and handy person help. Volunteers also provide respite assistance to in-home caregivers and patient scribe assistance during medical appointments.

Since 1992, they have been making an impact in the lives of thousands of neighbors around the Verde Valley and that became even more important with the onset of Covid-19.

What started with thousands of wellness check phone calls quickly evolved into a program to provide assistance in navigating the vaccination registration process, provide transportation to and from the resulting appointments, and ultimately a program to provide those vaccinations in the neighbors’ homes. According to Kent Ellsworth, the Executive Director of VVCC, “We have many older adults who are homebound, cannot drive, and are not able to navigate the online vaccination registration process. We want to do whatever we can to relieve this stress, keep them safe, and get them vaccinated.”

SUPERHERO’S INDEED!

With appropriate safety precautions in place, we interviewed their executive director, a board member, volunteers and of course the people that they serve to better explain why they are SUPERHERO’S.

The end result is their Gala Video, social media clips to promote the event and the organization, a volunteer recruitment video and a video that they can share with potential donors so that they can continue the amazing work that they do!

Duke’s of Air Arizona OTT Commercial

Baerclaw Productions was proud to partner with Marketing With A Flair to produce an OTT commercial for Duke’s of Air Arizona. If you live in the East Valley, you’ve probably seen it.

We started with their existing jingle and came up with the creative to bring it to life using video which meant we had to create a hot and sweaty homeowner who’s AC unit had stopped working.

Get video of a technician arriving on the scene to save the day and take the story from beginning to end.

Here’s a link to one of the versions that we created – Duke’s of Air OTT Commercial

Moving can be a real Baer – pun intended!

After 19 years in North Phoenix, the Baerclaw Productions team has a new den in the Scottsdale Airpark and there were a lot of lessons learned along the way.

Our old office
A glimpse into our new office

1. Don’t keep anything that you haven’t used/touched in more than six months.

2. Offer Up and Craigslist are a great way to sell many of those things and can help pay for the move.

3. While everyone on our team offered to help with the move, we made the right decision and hired professionals to do the heavy lifting.

4. When moving computers, complex edit bays and sound booths, label every cable before the move to make putting it back together so much easier and quicker.

5. You are going to move too much stuff so know where the dumpster is at your new place.

6. Fill out your change of address form with the post office as soon as you can, they are buried and short staffed right now so there’s going to be a delay in getting your mail.

7. Let you vendors know about your move in case their bills get caught up in the previously mentioned postal service delays.

8. Phone and internet service isn’t always just plug and play.

9. Be nice to your new neighbors and let them know that you’ll be settled soon.

10. Celebrate the new office, invite everyone to come by and see it and get back to doing the great work that you’ve always done!

Home office video to informational video – Check!

Just because most of us are working from home doesn’t mean that we can’t produce high quality videos to promote our businesses.

In previous posts, we’ve talked about lighting, sound and camera angles but today, we want to take it one step forward and show you what we mean by using a real world example that we created.

One of our clients, PWNA, Partnership With Native Americans, needed to create an informational video about the services that they offer and how the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the issues that Native Americans have been dealing with for years and how the work that PWNA is doing on a daily basis is making a huge difference.

The challenge was that the video needed to be created quickly, the CEO is not close to our Phoenix offices, and travel was not an option either for him or our crew due to the pandemic.

The solution was simple – using his laptop, Josh Arce, the President and CEO of PWNA, recorded his message and then sent us the video files.

The great thing is he didn’t have to do it in one take, he could look and listen to different takes and select the one that he liked best. We then used the takes that he liked best, existing video and pictures that we had in our AVID edit systems from previous projects and created an informational video that they are using in many places and ways to raise awareness and support.

The first picture was grabbed from the raw video that we received.

The second picture is what you’ll see in their video after the video was reformatted and color corrected.

Which picture would you rather use to promote your business, service or mission?

If you’d like to see the entire video, please click on this link – https://youtu.be/3R-ywuGgDEs

If you’re ready to produce a video to promote what you do, please check out our previous blog posts and if you have questions or need some help, the Baerclaw Productions team is ready to help.

We’ve been in business since 1997 and we look forward to being ‘Your Resource For ALL Things Video!’.

Bosho, that’s greetings in Potawatami.

My name is Joshua Arce.

I’m a citizen of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas and I’m President and CEO of Partnership With Native Americans.

PWNA is a Native-led, Native serving non-profit that has aided tribal communities since 1990.

Each year, we’re improving the lives of 250,000 Native Americans.

Our mission is providing immediate relief and long-term solutions to address disparities on impoverished and geographically isolated reservations.

Let me give you a few numbers to explain what the tribes are up against.

23 percent of Native families live with food insecurity, just not enough healthy food.

Only 13 hold a college degree, about half the rate of Caucasians.

Up to 61 percent of Native children live in poverty or low-income households.

When disaster strikes, outside help is slow to come and health care is a real challenge fueling higher rates of diabetes and other chronic illness.

So where do we start?

Well, honestly, it all starts with you.

Native Americans have the highest need in the U.S., yet less than one percent of charitable giving supports Native causes.

Year-round, PWNA is providing critical goods and services to the tribes.

We help with food boxes, fresh produce, and bottled water

K through 12 school supplies, scholarships, and mentoring.

Leadership training, emergency preparedness training, and emergency relief when disaster or a pandemic strikes.

Our top priorities now are emergency deliveries for Covid-19 relief and hunger.

So much work has been done, but there is more to do.

We hope you will join us in championing hope for a brighter future.

Iwgwien. Thank you.
