Edkey, Inc has been serving students in Arizona since 1999 and currently has 16 school sites and an online school so they are able to provide in-class education, a hybrid solution or everything virtually.
They are an amazing non-profit organization that goes into a community, finds out what the needs and wants are of the parents in that community and then has the flexibility to make it happen for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
They have small class sizes and are also the only charter school program in the world offering a deaf program and an emotionally disabled program.
If you would like to learn more about Edkey or the Sequoia Charter School program, visit them at www.edkey.org.
Baerclaw Productions was honored to work with the Edkey team again on a series of videos including a welcome back message to the students and a wide array of social media videos to help promote the program, answer questions for new families joining the Edkey family and really just explain what makes their program so unique and successful.
The Baerclaw Productions team handled everything on the day of the shoot with a three-person crew including a teleprompter operator and then returned to our office to do all of the postproduction in open captioning for the Welcome Back video.

COVID-19 has changed all of our lives but for the employees at the Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and Resort, it was minimized by actions taken by the Community and Tribal Leaders. Baerclaw Productions was honored to produce this video as a way for many of the employees to say thank you for maintaining their pay and benefits while the Casino and Resort were shut down. When you need to produce a video, let us be Your Resource For ALL Things Video! We are Baerclaw Productions.
Hi, I’m Bill Baer with Baerclaw Productions and since we’re all in the middle of a pandemic, most of us are working from home and a video blog may be your best way to connect with your customers.
Today, I’ve got some tips on some things that you can do to create the best video blogs that you can from your home office.
Now whether you are using a smartphone, a tablet or a camera, make sure that it’s on a tripod, at eye level, nobody wants to look at your ceiling.
If you don’t have a microphone, make sure that your camera is close enough to you to get good audio.
Now let’s talk about lighting, I want you to take two lamps and put them at 45 degree angles about arm’s length away from you on your desk, this will give you a real nice, smooth light across your face.
And here’s one more tip, change your screen saver on your computer to your company logo and change the settings so that your computer never goes to sleep, that way, your logo will always be in the background.
If you have questions about creating video blogs, let us be Your Resource For ALL Things Video!
While most of us are working from home, our front-line responders don’t have that option and for their sacrifice, we are eternally grateful. Mercy Care Arizona wanted to make sure that our healthcare workers and front-line responders understand how much we all appreciate what they are doing and the team at Baerclaw Productions had the honor of producing this social media message on behalf of Mercy Care Arizona. Using stock video and production music from our in-house audio library, we produced this short video that will be used on all their social media channels and beyond.

When it comes to fundraising, you know it’s critical to explain your value proposition to your existing and potential donors whether they are looking at your website or attending one of your events looking for a reason to make your mission their mission.
A professionally produced video is a great way to tell your story and Baerclaw Productions is honored to have been selected by Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition for the last three years to create their identity piece which was shown at their annual Gala right before paddle time and this year’s event was another huge success!
This year’s video combined their staff, Executive Director, volunteers and clients, who they call neighbors, talking about what it means to them be involved with this amazing organization.
We also gathered a number of testimonials that were used for social media promotion of their Gala and can be used in the future to promote their organization and future events.

For the last 25 years, I’ve been based out of Phoenix, Arizona and despite growing up in the Chicago area, I have to be honest, my blood has thinned and I’m not much of a fan of cold weather. All that being said, when the phone rings with a producing job for a Fortune 10 company north of the border, I had to dig out my woolies.
The first thing I had to do was a little research because the shoot had to take place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada. After figuring out where that was, securing a local crew and checking the weather, I started packing for a roughly 48-hour round trip that included about 34 hours on the ground. From when I took off in Phoenix to when I arrived at the hotel in Saskatoon, the temperature had dropped almost 90 degrees – before factoring in the wind chill, it was 20 below!
Luckily our shoot was inside which was great – so was our local crew! The team at Bamboo Shoots, https://bambooshoots.ca/, was amazing from pre-production planning all the way through follow up after the shoot. Our six-person production crew included two cameras, one on a Ronin and Easy Rig, audio, DIT and make-up. At all phases, they were very helpful and offered up suggestions and recommendations and were a joy to work with. If something needed to be done, moved, re-arranged or juggled, it was done with a smile. The team made me look good and allowed me to focus on what I needed to do which was to make our interviewee feel comfortable, complete the interview and make sure that all of the broll that we needed was gathered. If I ever have to go back to Saskatoon for a shoot, they will be my first call.
The shoot went very well and we got the story that out client wanted. I also learned something new – where Saskatoon is! I hope the next time I get to visit there, it’s the summer! All in all, it was a great trip and I’m happy to be back in Arizona, even if it’s only in the mid 60’s.
As a producer with more than 30 years of experience, I’m always happy to go anywhere if there’s a great story to tell – even if the temperature never gets above zero.
Until recently, I hadn’t been but field producing work took
me back to the great state of Texas to produce a training video for a new
product revolutionizing the drilling industry. Working with a great crew based
out of College Station, the shoot went well and all of the postproduction was
completed in our Phoenix based offices.
What a great learning experience and now I can check it off
my ‘to do’ list. Take a look at the pics, if you look closely, you’ll see cattle
in the background. If you ever need to shoot a video in the College Station
area, connect with my new friends at Frame By Frame productions, fxfinc.com.
If you need a field producer for your next project, let me
know. We’ll find the crew and get the job done. Field producing is just one of
the many services that we offer here at Baerclaw Productions, when you have a need,

The first three parts of this video campaign blog series are intended to lay the ground work for the work that’s about to begin… but there’s one more thing that has to happen and that’s the million-dollar question… what’s your budget.
You may not know what your video should cost, you may not want to tell your video production partner what your budget is or you may just want to wait and see what kind of quotes you get back.
If you’re comfortable with your production partner, I’d suggest that you at least give them a range so that they can tell you what can be done based upon your budget.
Since we opened our doors in 1997, we’ve only had two clients who have told us their budget at the beginning… one of them we referred out to another production company because they had 500 bucks to spend on a promotional video and we can’t do that.
The other gave us a number and I asked how many videos they were expecting for that. Their response was one.
They didn’t believe the quote that I gave them but they sure loved the videos that we produced for them.
Yes, it was videos… we did five videos for their original budget and in the end, we produced probably 25 videos for them over several years.
Proceed however you feel comfortable but be prepared, the ‘what’s your budget’ question will come up and that’s the last step before the serious work begins.
If you’re ready to get serious, call us today and let Baerclaw Productions be YOUR RESOURCE FOR ALL THINGS VIDEO!
