When Mercy Care needed a production partner to help them produce videos for their Mercy Honors, RISE Awards and the ReMEMBER Kate Award, they turned to the Baerclaw Productions team.

They had their hands full going through the nomination, review and selection process internally, not to mention all of the planning for the online events, and after setting the schedule, they turned the project over to our team to handle all of the production needs which included handling all of the interviews, script writing, postproduction and electronic delivery of all of the approved videos.

To complete all of the videos that they needed, we did online video interviews and single and multiple camera on location shoots at a variety of locations around the Valley. We also reviewed, sourced and secured voice over talent as needed for some of the videos.

Some of the highlights included a keynote address from Brandon Lee of Art Of Our Soul Art Studio. Brandon and I both used to work at Channel 3 here in Phoenix and he shared his amazing recovery story from drug addiction and his decision to follow his heart and take his passion for art and turn it into a vehicle to help others who are dealing with various forms of trauma.

We also connected via zoom with Linda Hunt, the former President and CEO of Dignity Health’s Southwest Division, who shared highlights of her 50 plus years of health care service as she was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

We also used zoom to honor this year’s RISE Award winners. The RISE Awards celebrate individuals and organizations in our community who are working to make the lives of others better. The awards honor individuals and organizations in the three areas of Compassion, Innovation, and Advocacy and Collaboration.

The other major grouping of videos revolved around the ReMEMBER Kate Aurelius Award which is an annual recognition program to memorialize Kate Aurelius, a former Mercy Care employee and deputy director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), for her dedication to ensuring quality health care for the most vulnerable. The award recognizes an employee’s outstanding contributions to our members and commitment to excellence.

We created a video for each of the 18 nominations which had the nominator explaining how the nominee went above and beyond to make a positive impact for the Mercy Care members and the nominee reacted and explained why they do what they do. Most were done with three cameras, but some were done using zoom.
